Peacockish

I fell in love with this mirror (below) when I first saw this picture. It's eclectic yet it has a modern feel to it. I found one similar to this one at Pier1. It would look great in an entrance above a sleek buffet.

This large mirror is so beautiful. I believe the one from Pier1 is quite a bit smaller.

Here is the one from Pier 1 Imports.

Dynamic Duo

Elizabeth Wixon and Kimberly Rasmussen are the designers behind Elizabeth Kimberly. Between the two, they have designed some pretty fantastic homes. Here are just a few images that I enjoyed most from their website

So luxurious

I really enjoy the spacious, crisp, clean feeling of this space.

Great choice of artwork. It draws the eye towards it.

This is my favourite. I mean the brown and the royal blue together are just fantastic. Great choice of wallpaper as well.

Again, my obsession with white kitchens!

What unique detailing. It truly does vamp up this corner.

The wall of frames

Thought these frame risers from Pottery Barn were pretty cool. It's a great way to add depth to a cluster of frames.

I'm into.... Kishani Perera

Kishani Perera is the epitome of hollywood glam. I'm in love with the way she mixes vintage pieces with natural elements. She always produces some great work.

It's still good...

Let's take a step back to Elle Decor's march issue. I mean how could I not praise the work of Nate Berkus and Anne Coyle on Ellen Rakieten's home. I still keep this issue at the top of the magazine pile because I adore it so much. Not only did the cover instantly attract me to it but the inside look didn't disappoint either. So here it is, months later, just thought i'd share. And if you've already seen it before i'm sure you don't mind admiring this great work once more.

Perfection!

I wouldn't mind a closet like this one... This would be my quit place to come, and sit, and admire the clothes and the shoes.... ahhhh.

My kind of office space... Great place to create storyboards

From Paris with love

I had to do a little bit of digging to find these pictures taken while in Paris in 2007, but I thought you might enjoy them:)
Through a dear contact I had the extremely rare privilege of visiting Coco Chanel's Apartment on Rue Cambon. This apartment is situated atop the 4 story Chanel Flagship store and is right across what used to be Coco's second home, The Ritz. The apartment is right up a flight of stairs at one end of the Chanel showroom. It really is random and unexpected, but apparently it's just what Coco wanted. The staircase is fully mirrored which allowed Chanel to sit at the very top and watch her models and the spectators reactions to her collection without them seeing her. Smart cookie she was!

Going up to Chanel's apartment. Standing on the famous mirrored staircase. Full of excitement... trying to compose myself.

Here is Coco at the very same spot where I was above.

Hearing Coco's story from our very lovely tour guide. I'm in full amazement right about now.

This was the first thing I saw when I stepped into the entryway and I just about freaked my sh**t. This is THE chair from the famous Chanel picture, as seen bellow. The crew was setting up for a photo shoot so I restrained from jumping in and pulling a pose.

This is a shot from the main room that is located right off the entrance. This room was full of figurines that Chanel had collected while traveling. From then on i've always picked up a little something nice when i've traveled to foreign places. I think it's important not only to have things that look pretty, but having a memory attached to them makes it that much more special.

When searching on the internet for photos of Coco's apartment this image is one of the most popular ones. I've also seen a few adds with models lounging on this very couch. It definitely is the focal point of the room.

Here is Coco sitting on that very couch.

This Chandelier was situated right above the coffee table in front of the couch. Some people say that Coco sat down one day and looked up at this chandelier and came up with CHANEL NO. 5. Notice how the shapes create the number 5 as well as the famous CC shape.

I truly adored the little bits and pieces that were lying around on every table in the room. It makes you wonder where they were purchased and if they really do have a story behind them.

Chanel's writing desk.

This room was situated to the right of the living room. It was quite empty but I did enjoy the dear statues (below).

The dinning room was on the left-hand side of the living room. There were many Asian panelled walls in this room. Chanel was a very lonely individual, the story behind these panels was that when visitors would come over she would block the exit with these panels so that they would only be dismissed when Chanel was ready for them to leave. Now that the story I heard but who knows if it's true.

There were two tables like this one at each end of the dinning room. Apparently this is part of a set of 4 tables that depict the 4 seasons. No one has been able to locate the other 2 remaining pieces to complete the set.

I'd also like to add that there was no bedroom in this apartment because this isn't where Chanel slept. She had her own permanent room at the Ritz across the way.
